Custom Built Homes in Perth

At Westmade Homes, we understand that building a home or investment property can be stressful. That’s why we have developed a step-by-step guide to help you through the process. We work closely with you and keep you informed every step of the way to ensure your home or unit development meets your exact requirements.

Step 1

An initial meeting is arranged between you, the selected designer (or your own choice of designer), and builder Michael Moffatt, to discuss your requirements and create a brief. If applicable, a “Preparation of Plans Agreement” is also signed between you and Westmade Homes.

Step 2

Based on your brief, the designer creates Schematic Drawings (usually a floor plan and one or two elevations). You confirm that the plans meet your requirements, and once prepared, the plans are forwarded to Michael who is responsible for preparing an estimate only.

Step 3

You confirm that the plans and estimate are acceptable, and give authority to the designer to proceed with Working Drawings and Engineering, so that council approval can be sought.

A Selection Schedule and Addenda are then completed and all relevant documentation is gathered for both yours and Westmade Homes’ records.

Step 4

Westmade Homes prepares a contractual quote. Once accepted, the contractual documents are signed – only then can Westmade Homes commence construction.

Step 5

Construction of your new home begins. Michael Moffatt and his team oversee every step of the construction process, and keep you up-to-date with your home’s development.

Step 6

Your home is completed, inspected, and finally, the keys are handed over along with the appropriate warranties. We also organise a 90-day maintenance review to ensure your home functions exactly as it should.
